Test Gap Round Rod ：This test only applies to the clearances between moving parts of toys intended for children under 96 months of age, where such clearances present a potential risk of pinching or crushing fingers or other appendages. This requirement includes, but is not limited to: clearances in the rim grooves of wheels and rigid wheels, clearances of baffles, radial clearances between the wheels and chassis of ride-on toys, or clearances between the drive wheels and other parts of toys driven by electric, clockwork or inertial mechanisms. If the aforementioned accessible clearances can accommodate a round rod with a diameter of 3/16 in (5 mm), they shall also accommodate a round rod with a diameter of 1/2 in (12 mm) to prevent finger pinching.

This instrument is made of metal round rods (see Figure 1) with a tolerance of ±0.1 mm.
