I. Purpose
Spray Rating Tester ：This instrument is applicable for testing the water repellency (the performance of resisting water to avoid wetting) of fabrics.
II. Principle
Place the test sample at a 45-degree angle directly below the spray nozzle at a certain distance. Spray a specific amount of water onto the surface of the sample through the nozzle to obtain a wetted sample. Then compare the wetted sample with the standard rating chart to determine the water repellency of the sample.
III. Reference Standards
This tester is designed in accordance with standards including AATCC 22, EN 24920, M&S P23, GB/T 4745-1997, ISO 4902 and other standards specified in Textiles – Determination of Surface Wettability – Spray Test.

IV. Function Description
- Nozzle: Sprays water onto the sample placed below.
- Sample Frame Clip Hanging Rod: Hangs the sample frame clip on the rod to position it properly.
- Sample Frame Clip & Sample Clamping Knob: Consists of an inner ring and an outer clip. Place the sample in the middle, then turn the knob to make the outer clip clamp the sample tightly.
- Hanging Hole: Allows the tester to be hung on hooks (e.g., on walls).
- Measuring Cup: Used to measure 250 mL of water for testing.
